Sir,
It is a known fact that in our country in particular our state of Jammu and Kashmir, wastages of essential commodities or services do happen. It could be power transmission or water supply through pipes. In Jammu as per a rough estimate potable water in the city has a large gap of supply and demand. The shortage is adjusted by rotating supply to water deficient areas whereas in most of the areas it is supplied not only on daily basis but the duration of supply is more comparatively. Besides leakages and wastages , overflows cause tremendous loss of water which could have been well used by the areas with deficient supply. Some portions of the High court could be seen with either leakages on the ground or the main two tanks on the rear of the police guard area overflowing for hours and hours at each time of the supply. Even near the police beat near the PHE water supply tank , the water, the precious water is seen either leaking or overflowing from wherever one sees. A lot of water could be saved by spending a few thousand rupees. The PHE department should periodically spread the massage of conserving water and punish those who treat water so casually.
Yours etc…
