JAMMU, Feb 14: President National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) Subash Shastri has demanded that the Income Tax exemption limit be raised to Rs five lakh per annum.
The demand was made by him while addressing NMC rallies at Kanjali and Bomyal in Nagrota today. He made an appeal to Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley in this regard. He also appealed Finance Minister to announce non inclusion of DA while calculating IT as DA installment are released by the Government from time to time to utilize the impact of price rise and inflation.
Shastri also demanded immediate merger of 50 percent DA into basic pay and pension as per the recommendations of 4th Pay Commission. He said all these burning issues having impact on both Central and State Government employees as well as pensioners be addressed by the Finance Minister while presenting the budget for 2015-16 in the Parliament.
He expressed the hope that the forthcoming Union budget will meet the expectations of the 1.25 crore people of the country, particularly the salaried class who are working tirelessly to implement the programmes and policies of Central Government.
Shastri further demanded immediate release of 17 per cent DA installment in favour of State Government employees.
