JAMMU, Feb 14: Pradeep Dutta, Bureau Chief, Times Now today expressed his views on the programme “Inter-Regional Dialogue’’, organised by Centre for Dialogue and Reconciliation.
He spoke on `Media Role and New Reality in Jammu and Kashmir State Understanding 2014 Elections’.
He also spoke about polarization in 2014 Assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir. During his presentation, he emphasised that reality in Kashmir is multi dimensional and multilayered.
“And at time these realities jostle, mingle or overlap in such a manner leaving no space for neutral space. In such situation, the biggest challenge before journalist is that he has to retrieve that neutral space from debris,’’ he said
“In the process often journalists get carried away by perceptions and these perceptions over the period of time become reality and this reality is far from reality on ground,” added Dutta.
Earlier, during inaugural session, Prof Rekha Chowdhary tried to analyse the new reality in Jammu and Kashmir State understanding 2014 Election Results. Programme was coordinated by Sushoba Bharve, Executive Director CDR.
