JU SC/ST employees seek VC’s attention towards letters by Governor House

JAMMU, Jan 20: The Jammu University SC/ST Employees Association held its meeting in the University Campus here today under the chairmanship of its president R L Kaith.
The meeting invited the attention of the Vice-Chancellor Professor R D Sharma towards letters dated 4.7.2014, 26.3.2014, 16.1.2014 and 27.5.2013, handed in to the University by Governor’s Secretariat and urged him to settle the long pending issue of the Association positively in the larger interest of justice.
The meeting also urged the Vice-Chancellor to direct the administration not to fill up any vacancy of Assistant Librarian through promotion unless and until the reserved promotional quota meant for SC/ST is filled up in toto. Besides, the meeting also demanded absorption of SC/ST employees in Establishment Section and allotment of suitable accommodation in the Campus for establishing Association’s office.
Among others who attended the meeting included Surinder Kumar Shavotra, Surjeet Singh Heer, Paras Ram, Des Raj Nandan, Om Parkash, Kuldeep Kumar, Sukhdev Bhagat and Kunj Lal Bhagat.
