REASI, Jan 19: A labourer couple among five workers were brutally assaulted by some unidentified assailants at their makeshift accommodation at Gran Morh near under construction Railway bridge, under the jurisdiction of Reasi Police Station.
The incident took place around 10 p.m and the assailants fled the scene after committing crime.
The victims were identified as Mohan Singh (44), son of Suraj Ram of Thillu, his wife Kalo Devi, Bashir Ahmad (18), son of Ab Ghani of Nioch, Mohd Yousuf, son of Ahmad Din of Nioch and Bashir Ahmad (25), son of Abdul Sattar of Garn Morh.
The injured were referred to District Hospital Reasi where Kalo Devi was referred to GMC Hospital Jammu in view of her serious injuries.
Reports said that the assailants forced their entry in the makeshift accommodation of the labourers and fled the scene after inflicting serious injuries on their victims with sharp edged weapons. Cause behind the attack could not be ascertained while Police has registered the case and launched a manhunt to nab the accused.
