JAMMU, Jan 3: Uncertainty looming over the formation of Government in Jammu and Kashmir can be venomous and can lead to more polarization in the State. This was expressed by Sanjay Gupta, social activist while addressing a press conference here today.
Mr Gupta said that people of J&K have not given clear verdict to any party and with fractured mandate no party is able to form the Government, adding that it is unfortunate that now more politics is being played over the formation of Government by all major political parties including PDP, BJP, NC and Congress. “Though all the parties have met the Governor, N N Vohra, yet have not cleared their stand even 11 days after the results and the people of the State are now confused with rumours spreading all around,” added Mr Gupta.
Mr Sanjay further said that it is people who have voted in record number but BJP which is also heading the Centre Government and PDP which has emerged single largest party have failed to clear their stand to add to the confusion.
He said the onus lies on BJP and PDP to come up with a clear stand, otherwise the voices for separate State for Jammu will be echoed and will encourage communal/regional divide in the State.
