ABVP demands opening of locked school

JAMMU, July 26: Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarathi Parishad (ABVP) today demanded opening of Government Middle School, Dadan, zone Ukhral, district Ramban, which has been locked for the past three days by the land donors creating manifold problems for students and their parents.
In a statement issued here, Ajit Singh, State vice president, Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarathi Parishad (ABVP) said that the school has been locked by the land donors for the past three days and the higher authorities of the Education Department are not taking any steps for its opening.
He added that the land donors are demanding adjustment of their family member as cook in the school for the mid day meal.
Singh said that due to inaction of the authorities, students are facing problems and this has also creating anguish among the parents and people against the carelessness attitude of the authorities.
He urged the authorities to send a team of the department to redress the issue and save the future of the students pursuing their education in the school.
Singh said that if the school was not opened at the earliest, then ABVP will adopt agitational path and for any inconvenience the authorities will be responsible.
When contacted CEO Ramban, said that the matter was sorted out and he has instructed ZEO Ukhral to visit the school and appoint the land donors family member as cook, so that the studies of the students do not suffer.
He added that as per Central Government order, if a school is having more than 50 students, the authorities have to engage another cook and he has ordered for engagement of second cook in the school.
