JAMMU, Dec 11: Keeping a vigil over violation of Model Code of Conduct (MCC), police today seized Rs 90,000 cash from the possession of a person near Kotli Mian Fateh area, falling under the jurisdiction of Miran Sahib police station.
As per police sources, a vehicle bearing registration number JK08A-6136 being driven by Mohammad Iqbal, son of Abdul Gani, a resident of Sangaldhan, district Ramban was intercepted near Kotli Mian Fateh.
The vehicle was intercepted by the Miran Sahib police headed by SI Mohammad Iqbal Chagatta in presence of Incharge Statistic Surveillance Team (SST) Rajinder Kumar.
During checking, police and SST recovered Rs 90,000 cash from the vehicle and seized the same as the man failed to give satisfactory reply.
The seized money was handed over to Election authorities for further investigation.
