No craze for rural sports

Sir,
This has reference to the article ”No Craze for Rural Sports” DE 30 Nov 2014. The author has rightly highlighted the interesting facts about rural sports among the youth. It is absolutely true that rural sports losing their identity.
Advancement in science and technology also affects the human society. In present era of communication and technology, our youth feels shy to play games like gilli danda, supan supai, kho-kho etc. With the coming of mobile technology and Internet, our youth are engaged in playing video games, online games, and other high speed games. Our panchayats can play an important role to overcome this situation. They can organise rural sports at block and Panchayat level. Our Panchs and Sarpanchs should actively participate in these games. Winners of the sports should be awarded and encouraged.
We should  learn from our neighbouring State Punjab where the rural sports are organized in the entire State with great enthusiasm. To add further, our rural sports  are part of our culture and should preserve it at any cost.
Yours etc….
