RAMNAGAR, Dec 7: In a shocking incident, a son brutally murdered his mother and also injured his wife who tried to rescue her mother-in law.
The bizarre incident took place in remote village Raisan of Ramnagar tehsil in Udhampur district and the accused son was identified as Ajeet Singh, son of Krishan Singh, who was not mentally stable.
According to police, Ajeet Singh attacked his mother with a sharp edged weapon at their residence this evening. He repeatedly inflicted multiple injuries resulting into the death of 65 years old Bachno Devi on the spot. Ajeet Singh’s wife Santosh Kumari, who was at that time present in the house, intervened to save the life of her mother-in-law but she was also attacked by the accused and left seriously injured. She sustained injuries in her right leg and right arm.
“On getting information about the incident, our Police party rushed to the village, which is a remote area and around three kilometer distance needs to be covered on foot to reach there. Since no contact has been established with the Police party, it is not certain whether the accused has been arrested or not,” SDPO Ramnagar Abhishek Sharma told the Excelsior.
However, he added, the injured wife of accused has been shifted to Sub-District Hospital Ramnagar and her condition is out of danger.
As per reports, accused Ajeet Singh had assaulted his family members earlier also and even the police party, which went to arrest him at that time was also attacked by him.
