JAMMU, Dec 1: In a Public Interest Litigation regarding alleged conversion of residential area into commercial at Roop Nagar Housing Colony, Division Bench of State High Court has granted time to the Jammu Development Authority for filing response.
When the PIL came up for hearing, Advocate SK Shukla while referring to the provisions of Section 12(1) of the Development Act, argued that the JDA has no jurisdiction to change the land use by converting the parking area for commercial purpose.
Advocate Sindu Sharma appearing for the JDA sought time to file response, which was granted by the DB with the direction to the Registry to list the PIL on December 8, 2014.
