UDHAMPUR, Nov 25: Karwan-e-Aman, a National Integration tour organized for girl students of villages located in remote and far flung areas of Poonch district was flagged in here at Headquarters, Northern Command.
The tour was organized by Romeo Force under Operation Sadbhavna and was formally flagged in by Lt Gen Praveen Bakshi, Chief of Staff, Headquarters, Northern Comm-and.
The tour was aptly named ‘Karwan-e-Aman’ as its aim was to bring awareness about the rich historical and cultural heritage of the country and to have a glimpse of India.
The tour comprising of 21 girl students and two lady teachers visited many historical places in Amritsar and Chandigarh. In Chandigarh they visited Rock Garden, Rose Garden, Pinjor Garden and the popular Sukhna Lake and Water Kingdom.
In Amritsar the tour visited the Golden Temple, Jallianwala Bagh and Wagha Border.
