JAMMU, July 24 : Director General Prisons, Navin Agarwal today paid a visit to the Sub Jail Reasi.
He was accompanied by Additional Deputy Commissioner Reasi, R. S. Tara, SSP Reasi, Raghubir Singh, Addl. SP Reasi, Mohammad Sharief Chouhan, and others.
Mr Agarwal visited the barracks, interacted with the inmates and inquired about the behaviour of the staff and legitimate facilities being provided to them. He gave instructions to the technical officer to undertake repairs and renovations works wherever needed. He assured the inmates that all efforts will be made to improve their living conditions and Jail authorities will be provided all basic amenities.
On the occasion a darbar was also held in which the staff members put forth their genuine demands and were assured by Mr Agarwal that their all demands will be redressed amicably.
Mr Agarwal visited Bidda, 12 Kms from Reasi where more than 50 kanals of land is being proposed for the establishment of new District Jail Reasi. The new District Jail will have capacity to lodge 200 inmates.
