JAMMU, July 24: In a petition filed by Virender Gupta alias Kaka Chichdi, alleged close associate of Ravinder Gupta alias Gola Shah against the order of District Magistrate, State High Court today directed the authorities against detaining petitioner and stayed the coercive process for attachment of his property till next date.
After hearing Advocate Javed Iqbal appearing for the petitioner whereas AAG Gagan Basotra for the State, Justice J P Singh said, “in view of the factual position emerging from the detention records, petitioner shall not be detained till next date. This shall, however, be subject to petitioner’s appearing for the SSP Jammu twice a week”, adding “coercive process for attachment of the petitioner’s property shall also remain stayed, till next date”.
