JAMMU, July 24: Terming the interlocutor report as anti Jammu, students from various degree colleges of the winter capital boycotted their classes and held protest demonstration.
Hundreds of students from GGM Science College and Commerce College boycotted their classes and held protest demonstration under the banner of National Panthers Students Union (NPSU). They raised slogans and urged the Government to reject the interlocutors’ report.
Addressing the gathering, Partap Singh Jamwal, provincial NPSU president, said that Interlocutors’ report is totally against the people of the Jammu region.
He said that Dalip Padgaonkar led team of Interlocutors has submitted a report on J&K, which instead of suggesting some fruitful ways has tried to create confusion in the minds of the people.
Jamwal asserted that the report virtually seemed to be a pre-drafted document and got forwarded to the interlocutors as its whole focus has been on Kashmir only.
“Interlocutors have allegedly failed to highlight the problem of unemployment and recommend any result oriented measures to tackle it”, Jamwal said, adding that the report shows least concern for the integration of the State with the rest of the country.
Jamwal demanded start of construction work of Central University Jammu at the earliest and the local peoples of Jammu province should be appointed in this university.
Among others present were Rawat Singh Manhas, Yogesh Talwar, Mohd Ashraf, Vicky Singh Bhau, Mahesh Bakshi, Sunil Mandla, Dalvir Singh Chib, etc.
Meanwhile, students of other degree colleges including MAM College, GDC Akhnoor, GCW Parade, GDC Bani, GDC Paloura also boycotted their classes and held protest demonstrations.
