30 bovine animals rescued, 2 smugglers held

UDHAMPUR, Oct 17: Police today rescued 30 bovine animals from Kud and arrested two persons, who were smuggling these animals to Kashmir.
Acting on reliable information, a police party, led by SHO Kud Ragubir Singh, laid a surprise naka on the National Highway near Kud and intercepted a truck bearing   Registration number JK02AQ-5593.
During thorough search of the truck, 30 bovine animals were found packed in the vehicle. Police rescued the animals and arrested the driver namely Mohd Rafiq of Khan Pur Nagrota as well as his associate Rafiq of Ramban.
In this connection, a case FIR number 90/14 under Section 188/RPC, 3 PCA has also been registered at Police Station Kud for further investigation.
