Srinagar, June 4: District Hospital Bandipora today performed its first-ever Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) surgery, marking the launch of specialized ENT surgical services at the district-level healthcare facility.
The procedure, a septoplasty to correct a deviated nasal septum, was carried out by ENT specialist Dr. Raies and his team, hospital officials said.
The surgery was assisted by consultant anaesthetist Dr. Iqbal Fateh and operation theatre staff, who ensured the procedure was conducted safely and according to clinical standards.
Officials said the introduction of ENT surgical services would reduce the need for patients to travel outside the district for such interventions, improving access to specialized healthcare while lowering treatment-related expenses for families.
Medical Superintendent of District Hospital Bandipora, Dr. Mukhtar Ahmad, congratulated the surgical team on the achievement and described it as a significant step towards strengthening specialized healthcare services in the district.
