4-year-old boy dies after wall collapses on him at Gadigarh

JAMMU, June 2: A 4-year-old boy was killed after a wall collapsed on him at a construction site at Gadigarh area here when it was allegedly hit by a tractor being reversed by its driver, officials said.
They said the child was resting near the construction site while his mother was engaged in labour work there.
During the course of work, an unidentified tractor driver allegedly reversed the vehicle and hit a nearby wall, causing it to collapse on the boy, officials said.
The child sustained grievous injuries and was admitted to Government Medical College Jammu, where he was declared as dead on arrival, they said.
He was later identified as Amit, son of Kitaan, a native of Madhya Pradesh presently residing in Gadigarh.
A police official said that a case FIR number 126/2026 under the relevant sections of the law has been registered at Police Station Satwari and further investigation has been set into the motion to trace and arrest the driver, who has fled from the spot after commission of the crime.
