JAMMU, June 2: The University of Jammu signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Information and Library Network (INFLIBNET) Centre, Gandhinagar, an Inter-University Centre of the University Grants Commission (UGC), to strengthen digital library services, research support, and scholarly communication.
The collaboration will facilitate the implementation of key INFLIBNET services, including IndCat, SOUL, INFED, Shodh-Chakra, ILMS, and IRINS, benefiting students, researchers, faculty members, and library professionals across the University.
The Memorandum of Understanding was signed by Dr Neeraj Sharma, Registrar, University of Jammu, on behalf of the University, and Prof Devika P Madalli, Director, INFLIBNET Centre, Gandhinagar, in the presence of Prof Umesh Rai, Vice-Chancellor; Prof Neelu Rohmetra, Dean Research Studies; Prof Sangita Gupta, Dean Planning and Development and Head, Department of Library and Information Science; Prof J P Singh Joorel, Dean Academic Affairs; Dr Ginny Dogra, Director, DIQA; Dr Guneet Singh Sudan, Director, Centre for IT Enabled Services & Emerging Technologies; Dr Vikram Singh Sahi, I/C Librarian, Dhanvantri Library.
Vice-Chancellor Prof Umesh Rai stated that the initiative would significantly enhance the University’s digital infrastructure, research visibility, and access to quality information resources. He emphasized that the collaboration would contribute to quality enhancement, academic excellence, and the digital transformation of the University. Prof Sangita Gupta highlighted importance of the initiative in promoting innovation, research support, and technology-enabled library services.
Among others present on the occasion were faculty members of the Department of Library and Information Science and staff members of the Dhanvantri Library.
