RAMBAN, June 2: Driver of a tipper lost his life after the vehicle he was driving skidded off the road and plunged into a deep gorge in Kundi area here last night.
Official sources said that a tipper bearing registration number JK19-7588 was moving on Karool-Kumait link road when the driver lost control over the vehicle and it plunged into a deep gorge near Kundi.
After getting information about the accident, cops and locals rushed to the spot and launched a rescue operation.
Body of the driver was retrieved from the gorge and shifted to District Hospital Ramban for medico-legal formalities.
The deceased was identified as Sandoori Lal, son of Shankar Dass, resident of Nalina, Jatgali Tehsil and district Ramban.
Police said that after the completion of post-mortem and other legal formalities, the body was handed over to the bereaved family for last rites.
Meanwhile, Police have registered a case in this regard and started investigation.
