JAMMU, June 2: A Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) jawan sustained minor injury after his service weapon went off accidentally at Jammu Tawi Railway Station here today, officials said.
After de-boarding a special train at Jammu Tawi Railway Station, ASI Jaswinder Singh of CISF was awaiting another train for deployment on the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra duty when his service weapon discharged accidentally, resulting in minor injury in his foot, they said.
He was immediately provided with the treatment at a healthcare facility following which he resumed his duty.
Meanwhile, police have initiated proceedings as per the law to further investigate into the matter.
