JAMMU, June 1: Dogra Brahman Pratinidhi Sabha (DBPS), today celebrated the birth anniversary of Acharya Chanakya in the name of Vishwa Brahman Divas to remember the contribution of the Brahman community for the society and nation.
A function in this regard was organized by the DBPS in the premises of the Sabha under the leadership of Ved Parkash Sharma, president DBPS. Besides paying tribute and remembering Acharya Chanakya, Hawan Yajna and Chanakya Challisa were also performed on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Ved Parkash Sharma said that Vishwa Brahman Divas is a Hindu celebration to commemorate the pride of Brahman community.
Chairman of DBPS, Advocate P C Sharma highlighted the contribution of Acharya Chanakya as philosopher cum diplomat.
NMC President Subash Shastri, former Dy Commissioner B S Jamwal said that Acharya Chanakya is a pride and one of the greatest Indian ideals.
Senior BJP leader Chander Mohan Sharma, Bawa Bhair Dev Sathan Trust General Secretary Romesh Sharma and former JMC Commissioner Soujanya Sharma, also spoke on the occasion
Among others who paid their tribute, included N C Sharma, M L Sharma, M L Padha, Pt Barita Ram, Ritiz Khajuria, Sunil Sharma, Shiv Ram Sharma, Jagan Nath Sharma, K L Sharma, Davinder Sharma (Baboo), Gurdass Sharma, Sat Paul Sharma, Raman Sharma, Rajesh Sharma, former IFS Subash Sharma, Prem Balotra, Mohan Lal Sharma, Sanjeev Kerni, Krishan Lal Sharma, Girdhari Lal & representatives of various religious and social organizations.
