JAMMU, May 29: Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Jammu, Joginder Singh, today reviewed the security and logistical arrangements at Bhagwati Nagar Base Camp in connection with the forthcoming Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra scheduled to commence on July 3.
During the visit, the SSP inspected the security deployment and interacted with police personnel and officers posted at the camp.
Officials from the CRPF and civil administration were also present during the review.
Discussions were held on security measures, crowd management, traffic regulation, surveillance, emergency response and coordination among different agencies to ensure the safety and smooth movement of pilgrims.
The SSP directed officers to complete all arrangements well in time and maintain a high level of alertness during the Yatra period.
He also stressed the need for proper facilities and hassle-free assistance for devotees arriving at the base camp, while asking all stakeholder agencies to work in close coordination for the smooth conduct of the pilgrimage.
