Addressing the gathering, Ajay Lakhotra said many students were feeling disappointed with the functioning of ABVP and wanted to work independently for student welfare.
He said NSUI believes in protecting students’ interests and works according to the values of the Constitution.
Raghvendra Vashisth said he would work sincerely for the welfare of students after joining NSUI.
Tofiq Malik said he was influenced by the ideology of NSUI and the vision of Rahul Gandhi regarding youth and education.
Abhay Pratap Singh alleged that there was pressure within ABVP and students were unable to raise genuine issues freely.
Several NSUI leaders and activists were present during the joining ceremony, including Jammu University President Aryan Raina and other office bearers.
NSUI leaders described the development as a major boost for the organization in Jammu University and other colleges of the region and said the new members would work on student welfare and academic issues.
