JAMMU, May 25: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) held an organizational meeting of Kabir Nagar Shakti Kendra at Ward No. 40, Talab Tillo, under the Jammu West Assembly constituency.
Dr. Pardeep Mahotra, Media Incharge, J&K BJP while addressing the meeting, showed concern over shortage of Safai Karamcharis in the area.
BJP Talab Tillo Mandal vice-president, Rahul Nargotra, Mandal general secretary, Arun Dubey, Mandal secretary, Sonali Gupta, Mandal media secretary, Vikas Kumar, Booth President, Mohan Lal Gupta, Ramesh Sharma, Arun Khajuria, Rohit Kumar, and others were present.
The BJP leaders held interaction with Booth presidents, BLOs, and members of Booth Committees. During the discussion, various organizational matters and pressing civic issues faced by the residents were highlighted, including poor sanitization of lanes and drains, the increasing stray dog menace, shortage of sanitation workers, inadequate garbage collection facilities, and malfunctioning or lack of street lights in several areas. The shortage of sanitation workers has worsened civic crisis in Ward 40.
Dr. Pardeep while addressing the meeting, assured the workers that all civic issues raised during by them would be taken up with the MLA Jammu West and the concerned departments for early resolution. He particularly highlighted the need for proper management of drinking water resources during the ongoing heat wave, pointing out that several tail-end localities in Ward No. 40 continue to face water supply shortages.
Neelam Nargotra stressed that timely resolution of local issues is essential to maintaining public trust. She emphasized that despite the rapidly increasing population and expanding residential areas in Ward No. 40, the number of sanitation workers has been drastically reduced, causing immense inconvenience to the residents.
