3 tractors seized in Baramulla

SRINAGAR, May 22: Police today seized three tractors involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals during enforcement drives conducted in different parts of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
A police spokesperson said that during area patrolling at Hurhandpur and Dargam, police teams intercepted two tractors allegedly engaged in unlawful mineral extraction. The vehicles were being driven by Mudasir Ahmad Rather, son of Ghulam Hussain Rather of Pakipora, and Yasir Hassan, son of Ghulam Hassan Wani of Dargam.
In a separate action, police also seized another tractor bearing registration number JK05P-0798 loaded with illegally extracted gravel, “Legal action under the relevant provisions of the MMDR Act has been initiated in all the cases,” the spokesperson said.
