AKHNOOR, May 21: Continuing the pace of developmental activities, MLA Mohan Lal today laid foundation stones for multiple development projects worth over Rs 1.34 crore in different areas of his constituency.
Mahamandleshwar Mahant Rameshwar Dass was prominently present on the occasion.
Addressing the gatherings, the MLA said that the Government is committed to transforming Akhnoor into a model Assembly constituency through planned and inclusive development.
“Community halls being developed near Bhagwan Parshuram Mandir and Barwala Community Temple in Akhnoor town will prove highly beneficial for organizing social and religious functions, especially in view of the limited public space available in the town,” he said.
“The long-pending demand of residents for construction of the link road connecting Gurha Manda to Shamshan Ghat in Gurha Brahmana has finally been fulfilled. Besides this, important RCC culverts are being constructed in Gujjar Mohalla and Permana Talab areas of Sungal to improve connectivity and public convenience,” said the MLA.
The projects inaugurated include construction of link road from Gurha Manda to Shamshan Ghat costing Rs 50 lakh, two RCC culverts in Sungal costing Rs 7.50 lakh each, restoration of Akhnoor-Sumah road costing Rs 26.50 lakh, construction of Bhagat Mohalla to High School Sungal road costing Rs 17.50 lakh, drain construction at Bhagwati Nagar costing Rs 6.36 lakh, renovation and tile work of Community Hall near Bhagwan Parshuram Mandir costing Rs 10 lakh and balance work of Barwala Community Hall costing Rs 9.51 lakh.
Among others who were present included former Councillor Rakesh Malhotra, former Sarpanches Rattan Lal, Prashant Sharma, Kuldeep Singh, Shamsher Singh, Yash Pal and Rampal Sharma, BJP Yuva Morcha president Balvinder Singh Bindu, Dogra Brahman Pratinidhi Sabha president Sudesh Magotra, Barwala Biradari president Sanjay Radha, Dilawar Kumar, Vinod Gupta, Tarsem Sharma, Babbu Magotra, Sham Lal and Roshan Bral.
