7 hospitalized after eating wild veg discharged

RAJOURI, May 19: Seven patients who fell ill after consuming a wild vegetable locally known as “Van Ghaneri” in Mohra village of Kandi in Rajouri district were successfully treated and discharged from Government Medical College and Hospital (GMC) Rajouri on Tuesday. Most of the discharged patients were children.
According to the hospital administration, all the patients are now in stable condition. They received treatment under continuous Medical supervision and monitoring by doctors.
The discharged patients include Rubina Kausar (24), wife of Shaukat Ali; Aafia Kausar (17), daughter of Talib Hussain; Rashid Ali (6), son of Mohd Shakoor; Atish Ali (10), son of Mohammad Shakoor; Mohd Imran (8), son of Mohammad Shakoor; Mohammad Irfan (16), son of Sakhi Mohammad and Saddam Hussain (14), son of Sakhi Mohammad. All are residents of Kandi Mohra village in Rajouri district.
According to reports, all of them fell sick after consuming the wild vegetable, and one family member had also died following the incident. They were immediately admitted to GMC Rajouri, where a team of doctors and healthcare workers kept them under constant observation and provided treatment. After recovering fully, all patients were allowed to return home.
On the occasion, Principal of Government Medical College Rajouri, Dr. A. S. Bhatia, and Chief Medical Officer Rajouri, Dr Manohar Lal Rana, were also present. They interacted with the patients and their families and assured them of every possible Medical assistance.
