UDHAMPUR, May 17: An unidentified woman died while a man sustained critical injuries after a Swift car rolled down into a deep gorge near Jakheni area on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway in Udhampur district today, officials said.
They said the accident took place when the vehicle skidded off the road and plunged into the gorge.
Two individuals injured in the accident were taken to District Hospital Udhampur, where one of them, an unidentified woman, aged around 45 years, succumbed to her injuries, official said.
They said the other injured individual, identified as Kewal Krishan (50), son of Kuldeep Raj of Janipur, Jammu, is also in critical condition.
Meanwhilem, police have registered a case under the relevant sections of the law at Udhampur Police Station and started further investigation into the matter.
