JAMMU, May 16: A meeting of the United Alliance of Kashmiri Displaced Community was held today, which categorically rejected the implementation of the NFSA on the displaced Kashmiri community.
The gathering declared that the displaced community, already scarred by decades of exile, uncertainty, and institutional neglect, cannot be made a laboratory for experiments wrapped in technical jargon and bureaucratic chains. The speakers termed the implementation of NFSA as a “draconian assault on the dignity and identity of a displaced people,” and vowed to resist it with unwavering determination till its complete revocation.
The members reminded the gathering that a community which survived the fires of displacement cannot be broken by files, forms, and technical hurdles. “Hunger cannot stand in queues. Hunger cannot wait for portals to open or servers to function. Ration is not charity – it is survival,” thundered one of the speakers.
To spearhead the struggle, an eight -member Core Committee was constituted and vested with full authority to carry forward the movement with strength, strategy, and unity. They included Hira Lal Pandita, Kuldeep Kashmiri, Desh Rattan Pandita, Raja Ji, Sunil Pandita, Comrade Mohan Lal, Bharat Pandita and Ashok Koul.
The Committee resolved that the battle will continue until the “chains of NFSA” are completely dismantled from the displaced community. It was also decided that future programmes and mass mobilizations will soon be announced to intensify the struggle.
The Alliance strongly reiterated that ration must be supplied to displaced families in a smooth, hassle-free, and dignified manner as existed before the implementation of NFSA. The members stated that forcing a suffering community into endless technical traps is equivalent to punishing victims for their own survival.
The meeting further emphasized the urgent demand for a separate column for the displaced Kashmiri community in the upcoming Census exercise, scheduled from 1st June to 30th June. The speakers warned the community to remain vigilant and united, alleging that attempts may be made to dilute or sabotage the genuine concerns and identity of the displaced people.
The gathering ended with a pledge that the displaced community will stand shoulder to shoulder like a mountain against every attempt to weaken its rights, identity and existence.
