JAMMU, May 15: The Indian Academy of Paediatrics (IAP), City Branch Jammu, in association with the Department of Paediatrics, GMC Jammu, organised an academic and clinical update module titled “FOCUS – Fever Observation Clinical Clues Understanding Strategy” at Jammu.
The program witnessed enthusiastic participation from paediatricians, postgraduate students, and healthcare professionals from across the region. The event started with an address by Dr Neelam Mohan, National President IAP 2026, through virtual mode.
Dr Sanjeev K Digra, HOD Department of Paediatrics, GMC Jammu and President, IAP City Branch Jammu, in his welcome address, apprised that the workshop was aimed at enhancing the clinical approach towards fever evaluation and management in children, especially during the upcoming season of dengue, through case-based discussions and interactive learning.
Dr Sunil Dutt Sharma, Professor in Department of Paediatrics, GMC Jammu, deliberated upon the basic concepts of fever, including the approach to evaluation of fever and also introduced the distinguished faculty for this workshop.
The scientific agenda featured a series of structured “Green Zone,” “Yellow Zone,” and “Red Zone” case discussions focusing on clinical clues, fever assessment strategies, differential diagnosis, transit zone fever evaluation, probiotics, quizzes, and spotters.
The sessions were delivered by esteemed faculty members, including Dr Sanjana Sharma, Associate Professor, Paediatrics, GMC Jammu; Dr Neerupam Gupta, Consultant Paediatrician, J&K Health Services; Dr Sandeep Rawal, and Dr Manish Balde, Consultant Paediatrician and Neonatologist, Motherhood Hospital, Gurugram.
The other prominent dignitaries present at the occasion were Dr N K Pargal, Dr S S Slathia, Dr G S Saini, Dr Ashu Jamwal, Dr Ravinder K Gupta, Dr Mahesh Gupta, Dr Mohd. Razaq, Dr Subash Chander, Dr Sandeep Raina, Dr Raman Sharma, Dr Vikas Mahajan, and Dr Manoj Sharma.
Dr Rajesh Kaul, Treasurer, IAP Jammu Branch, conducted the proceedings, and Dr Anuj Bhatti, Professor of Paediatrics, GMC Jammu and General Secretary, IAP Jammu Branch, presented vote of thanks.
