No tanker with PHE, people forced to purchase water

SUNDERBANI, May 14: Former MLC and chief spokesperson of JKPCC, Ravinder Sharma has expressed strong resentment over the lack of even a single water supply tanker with PHE Sub Division, Sunderbani, during the hot season, when there is acute shortage of water and irregular water supply.
Interacting with the PHE officials alongwith large number of prominent persons from different localities including Sunderbani town, where water supplies are affected, Sharma expressed surprise over the lack of a single water tanker with entire sub Division.
There is vast area in Sunderbani Sub Division including a large problematic localities without proper and regular supply of drinking water and in the absence of tanker supply, poor people suffer and have to purchase water through private tankers.
The PHE department charge water tax from poor people without proper supply of drinking water, which is highly condemnable and regrettable.
He termed it total abdication of the responsibility by the department and urged the Minister for Jal Shakti to provide tanker service to Sub Division without delay. He told the PHE officials to review the status of water supply at every station alongwith Mechanical wing and place the things in right form, so that there is no undue delay in the restoration of supply, in case of any minor fault.
Sharma said that people should not be forced to come on roads for the slackness of the department at any level otherwise Congress will come of roads to protest.
Several prominent persons including- NC Sharma, Ajit Singh, Rajiv Chadha, Yog Raj Sharma, Ashok Kumar, Thoru Ram, Sanjeev Sharma, Dr Ved Sudan, Govind Sudan, Sahil Khajuria, Vivek Sharma, Kasturi Lal and Ch Anwar were present on the occasion.
