Ex-MP Namgyal inaugurates 46th All India Official Language Training Camp

LEH, May 14: With the objective of effective implementation of the Official Language Policy of the Government of India and the preservation and promotion of Indian languages and cultural heritage, the 46th Three-Day All India Official Language Training Camp and Conference was inaugurated here today.
The conference was organized by the Bhartiya Bhasha Evam Sanskriti Kendra (BBESK).
The inaugural session of the conference was graced by former Member of Parliament and former Chairman/Chief Executive Councillor of the Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council, Leh, Jamyang Tsering Namgyal, as the chief guest.
The conference was attended by Dr Sunil Luthra, Director of the All India Council for Technical Education, as a special guest.
Former Director of the Ministry of Home Affairs, GoI, Rakesh Kumar, participated as the guest of honour.
In his keynote address, Jamyang Tsering Namgyal described India’s linguistic and cultural diversity as the nation’s greatest strength.
He stated that India’s 121 languages and more than 19,500 dialects represent the living identity of the country’s eternal cultural heritage, enriched over centuries through the wisdom, sacrifice and dedication of India’s great sages and scholars.
Namgyal also stressed the need to preserve and promote Balti, Purgi, Dardi-Aryan, Dardi-Shina and common Ladakhi languages.
The Secretary of the organization, Mahipal Singh, elaborated on the framework and objectives of the conference, while the proceedings were effectively conducted by Devi Prasad Mishra.
