JAMMU, Oct 2: Youth Congress (YC) president Shahnawaz Choudhary visited flood affected area Marhote Mohalla Dhandi, Khetan in Surankote and met the people whose houses have been damaged in flash floods and rains.
He also took stock of damaged crops and road connectivity. People of Marhote informed him that no one from the administration or leadership visited them before despite more than 20 houses were completely damaged in the flood. He assured the victims that he will leave no stone unturned to get their loss of agricultural lands, crops, houses etc. compensated by the government.
Shahnawaz assured the flood victims that he will fight their battle and will talk to district administration as well as government for the speedy provision of relief as they are not having even houses to stay in.
He also expressed grief and sympathy over the loss caused to the houses and said that it is unfortunate that the houses are totally damaged but no one from the administration visited them and nothing is being done to rehabilitate them by the government.
