Ajatshatru inspects arrangements for Kheer Bhawani Mela

SRINAGAR, May 11: Ajatshatru Singh, former Minister and Trustee, J&K Dharmarth Trust, today visited the Mata Kheer Bhawani Shrine at Ganderbal and reviewed the arrangements being made for the upcoming annual Mela Kheer Bhawani, scheduled to be held on June 22, 2026.
During his visit, the Trustee offered prayers at the shrine and sought the blessings of Mata Kheer Bhawani for peace, prosperity, communal harmony, and the well-being of the people of J&K. He interacted with temple functionaries and officials of the J&K Dharmarth Trust and took detailed stock of the preparations underway for the annual mela.
Ajatshatru Singh reviewed the arrangements for the convenience and safety of devotees expected to arrive from different parts of the country. Detailed discussions were held on sanitation, drinking water facilities, uninterrupted power supply, accommodation, medical aid, and security arrangements.
The Trustee also appealed to the District Administration, Ganderbal, to ensure that all necessary facilities are put in place well before the commencement of the annual mela. He stressed the importance of smooth traffic management, adequate parking, and round-the-clock security cover for the safety and convenience of the large number of devotees expected to visit the shrine from across the country.
