2 machines seized for illegal mining

SRINAGAR, May 11: The police today said it intensified its drive against illegal mining in Pulwama district and seized two machines involved in separate incidents.
A police spokesperson said that during patrolling at Rabitar, a team from Police Post, Newa found an excavator allegedly involved in illegal clay mining without permission and seized the machine on the spot. “Police registered FIR No. 81/2026 at Police Station Pulwama and started investigation,” he said.
In another action, Police Station Litter seized a JCB allegedly involved in illegal mining in the Rambiara Nala.
“FIR No. 58/2026 under relevant sections of law was registered and investigation initiated,” the spokesperson said.
