JAMMU, May 10: Police today claimed to have solved a burglary case reported from the Roop Nagar area here under the jurisdiction of Police Station Janipur by arresting one individual allegedly involved in the theft.
A police official said a case FIR No. 45/2026 under the relevant sections of the BNS was registered at Police Station Janipur on the complaint of one Pooja Vaid, a resident of Sector 8, Roop Nagar, Jammu, who reported theft of household items on April 17.
Following the registration of FIR, he said a police team led by ASI Muzamal Hussain Shah launched an investigation and worked out technical inputs and human intelligence to identify the suspect, later identified as Bahadur Ali, a resident of Keran, Bantalab.
During further investigation, the accused was arrested, he said.
The police official further said that an auto rickshaw (JK02DS-6932), allegedly used for transporting the stolen items, was also seized and kept at Police Station Janipur as evidence.
He said further investigation is underway to ascertain the involvement of the accused in other theft cases reported from the Janipur and Roop Nagar areas.
