RAMBAN, May 9: National Conference (NC) leader and MLA Banihal, Sajjad Shaheen, today laid the foundation stones for three major developmental projects in the Khari area aimed at strengthening road connectivity and upgrading educational infrastructure in the constituency.
The projects, to be executed at an estimated cost of Rs 5.4 crores, include construction of motorable bridge on Nachalana–Khari–Mandakbass Road at Km 3rd Rd 150-200, construction of bridge at Km 3rd Rd 900-925, as well as modernization and upgradation of Higher Secondary School Khari.
Addressing the gathering on the occasion at Khari and Kumbla, the MLA reiterated his commitment towards inclusive and people-centric development across Banihal-Gool constituency. He stated that improving road connectivity, strengthening educational institutions, and enhancing healthcare facilities remain among the top priorities of his public service agenda.
Highlighting the transformation taking place in the education sector, the MLA said that a digital revolution has been initiated in schools across the constituency, with all higher secondary and high schools in Banihal-Gool being provided with digital smart boards to ensure modern and quality education for students.
Shaheen termed the passage of the University Campus Establishment Bill as a historic milestone for the region, stating that it would play a transformative role in expanding access to higher education and fulfilling the long-pending aspirations of the youth by bringing university-level education closer to the doorsteps of the people.
The MLA further informed that around 52 new roads and nearly two dozen bridges have been sanctioned in Banihal-Gool constituency during the last one and a half years. Speaking on healthcare, he announced that much-needed dialysis facilities will soon become operational at SDH Banihal and SDH Gool.
ZEO Khari Abdul Rashid Giri, Executive Engineer R&B Division Banihal, BDO Khari, SHO Khari besides other officers of various departments, were present on the occasion.
The MLA was accompanied by prominent party functionaries including block president Khari Mohd Ashraf Naik, Bashir Ahmed Naik, Khurshid Ahmed Sehmat and others.
