JAMMU, May 9: Hindi Ghazal collection ‘Khwahishon Ke Bhanwar’ by Jammu based Hindi and Dogri writer, Sunil Sharma was released during a function organized by Hindi Sahitya Mandal here.
Renowned Ghazal poet Prit Pal Singh ‘Betab’ was chief guest on this occasion and the Lyricist, Dr. Nirmal Vinod presided over the function while Ghazal poet Manjit Singh ‘Kamra’ was guest of honour.
The poet, playwright and filmmaker, Dr. Baljit Raina presented an oral review of the work, while young poetess Alka Sharma presented an introductory paper.
In his address, Sunil Sharma reminisced about his early days with the Mandal and Dogri Sanstha and made mention of other literary works that have come to fruition during his creative journey.
At the commencement of the ceremony, president of the Mandal, Dr. Chanchal Dogra, welcomed all the guests and provided an overview of the Mandal’s activities. Mandal deputy general secretary, Shyam Juneja, proposed vote of thanks.
Rakesh Abrol, deputy general secretary and Uma Sharma, literary secretary conducted the proceedings.
Among the distinguished guests witnessing the program were Dr. Veena Sharma, Dr. Lalit Magotra, president Dogri Sanstha, litterateur Mohan Singh, former JKAACL secretary, Arvinder Singh Aman, cultural activist and critic Ravindra Kaul, Narendra Bhasin, Bharat Bhushan Sharma, Maharaj Krishan Santoshi, Sudhir Mahajan, Kapil Aniruddh, Satish Sharma, Dr. Parshottam Sharma, Dr. Monojit, Sushil Begana, Prof. Vijay, Sanjeev Bhasin, Dr. Pawan Khajuria, Madhavi Sharma, Kusum Dhar, Dr. Surendra Neer, Sita, Sushma Deol, Sunita, Suraj Sharma, Deepak Sharma and Dr Sanjay Sharma.
