JAMMU, May 7: The Central Government Pensioners’ Welfare Association (CGPWA), Jammu today organized a lecture on usefulness of ayurvedic treatment and a free camp, in collaboration with the Vaidyaratnam Vrindavan Ayurveda Chikitsalayam, Baddi Solan, Himachal Pradesh.
Former J&K chief secretary, B R Sharma was the chief guest while president of CGPWA and former DGP & CVC Kuldeep Khoda presided over the event. Ashok Angurana and Promod Jain were among those who attended the function.
In his 40-minute lecture on the usefulness of Ayurvedic therapies in the modern time, Dr V M Menon forcefully pleaded for revival of golden years’ healthcare traditions scripted in our Vedas and other ancient scriptures and recommended classical Ayurvedic Therapies to treat ailments from the roots rather than superficial cure.
It was followed by a 40-minute question-answer session during which the pensioners got clarification on many issues.
Earlier, the General Manager Chetan Saklani presented a PPT on the facilities of the Hospital.
Speaking on the occasion, B R Sharma said that ancient wisdom and old health care order is returning, replacing the modern systems but with modern coating. He said that no healthcare system can be brushed aside as they all have to be complementary to each other for better results.
Delivering the presidential address, Khoda said that Dr Menon’s lecture unfolded the realities of the ancient healthcare system which are now proven to be true. He agreed with B R Sharma that both ayurveda and allopathy systems of healthcare are useful as both should be used complementary to each other.
Earlier, general secretary of CGPWA, K B Jandial, in his welcome address said that ayurveda is not just a system of healthcare but a way of life that teaches the mankind how to live in harmony with nature.
Vice president CGPWA, Dr Sudarshan Kumar, presented vote of thanks and also conducted the proceedings.
On the occasion, more than 50 pensioners and their families had free consultation with doctors of the Hospital.
