RAJOURI, Apr 30: A residential house was completely destroyed in a fire incident reportedly triggered by a lightning strike in Thannamandi area of Rajouri district, here today.
According to reports, the house belonging to Mohd Gafoor, son of Ahmed Din, a resident of Reshi Marh near Rattan Pir village Azmatabad, caught fire during inclement weather after being struck by lightning.
The double-storey structure with a tin-sheet roof was quickly engulfed in flames, which spread rapidly and reduced the entire house to ashes within a short span of time.
Local residents rushed to the spot and made desperate attempts to douse the fire.
However, due to the intensity of the blaze, they were unable to save the structure.
Fortunately, no loss of life or injuries was reported in the incident.
The family has suffered heavy property loss in the mishap.
Locals have urged the administration to provide immediate relief and necessary assistance to the affected family.
