They are the future of our nation. Well conceived and well executed nasha mukt abhiyaan. Equally well timed abhiyaan.100 days intensive drive campaign, to ensure youth from drugs abstain. All responsible to carry out duty must not restrain, come what may sincere efforts will not go in vain.
For a successful drive hope for the best , victims recovery is drive’s acid test. Just proceed, we will succeed. Nasha affected families’ urgent need. We all together can and we all together will make Jammu and Kashmir UT drug free. Our collective aim let that be. Successful nasha mukt campaign would release affected families pain. Let us make sincere and dedicated efforts towards nasha mukt jammu and Kashmir and move on. No pains and no gains.
Nasha Mukt Jammu and Kashmir abhiyaan initiated by Lt Governor, Manoj Sinha ji , without mincing words is a right step in the right direction campaign, and is a welcome step and needs to be applauded and appreciated by all across. Our youth is our aan baan aur shaan and is future of our nation and to save them from becoming addicted to drugs – NASHA is our big responsibility and is for a good cause. We all together must take a call and contribute in whatever little or big way we can to make the NASHA MUKT ABHIYAAN , a resounding success for the benefit of all victims and their families.
Support the nasha mukt abhiyaan. Let us all build a drug free J&K all together. Say no to drugs. Identify big drug dealers and nab them. Narcotics coming from Pakistan cause of concern. Check on smuggling is very essential to stop entry of drugs and narcotics into the Union territory. Conducting general awareness campaigns through generating awareness by involving almost entire administrative machinery, civil society and other stakeholders right upto panchayat level is equally more important , very pertinent and effective step. Apprehending big fishes and opening rehabilitation centres in every district through the health department is also important.
LG directs for intensive drive to dismantle drug trafficking networks in all districts. Aim is to eradicate drug abuse from J&K . Checking of drug smuggling like infiltration check at the international border. Rehabilitation of drug victims. 100 days intensive drive campaign. Awareness programs. Pad yatra started from MA Stadium, Jammu on 11 April and was flagged off by the Lt Governor . Public participation of students and youth, National Cadet Corps ( NCC) – a volunteer youth organization to groom students into disciplined and patriotic citizens , National Service Scheme (NSS) – a central sector scheme of the Government of India, Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, launched in 1969 to foster social responsibility in students. It engages millions of student volunteers in colleges and schools in activities like health, education, environment, and disaster relief. Scouts and guides, volunteers, civil society organizations ( NGOs or other welfare related organizations/ agencies , political parties, public representatives, and general public including families of victims to maximize outreach and awareness .
The influx of drugs from across the border to Union Territory ( UT) is part of large scale international conspiracy to jeopardize and harm the future of youth of Jammu and Kashmir by making them drug addict. The constant use of drugs by youth will adversely affect their physical and mental health as well. Once a person becomes drug addict , he is more of a liability on the family and as well as on the UT. Therefore every possible effort should be made to stop youth becoming drug addict and those who are the victims, must be advised, educated to keep away from drugs and encourage them to get admitted in rehabilitation centres .
Every section of the society must come forward and support and join this fight against drug menace. “Don’t touch the innocent and don’t spare the culprit is our policy”, said Lt Governor . Make the campaign a Jan Andolan ( mass movement- people’s movement) with the active participation and support of people. Accept suggestions and integration of public suggestions along with feedback mechanism to make this campaign more impactful and take further feedback also and then generate future course of action for implementation.
Civil society, other civil institutions( schools, colleges, universities) , Police and civil administration must be equally responsible, accountable and involved to take cognizance of drug abuse and generate positive , workable and effective measures and leave no stone unturned to undertake means and measures to eradicate drug abuse. Drug abuse is a major global public health and security crisis, affecting individuals, families, states and nations, with a significant increase in drug addiction among the youth. It is a chronic brain disease that causes individuals to use drugs repeatedly despite the harmful consequences. Once a youth becomes drug addict, very difficult for him to say no to drugs. But still every possible effort must be made to educate him or send him to rehabilitation centre. Hope for the best that the de addiction process works effectively on the victim and the victim say no to alcohol, drugs , gambling/ gaming. Quite possible and is not impossible.
Everyone as enunciated above ( individuals, families, society, organizations, various other agencies , police and civil administration must get involved fully with the sole aim to collectively eradicate drug menace ( drug abuse) from the society especially prevalent among the youth and guide them and lead them towards drug de addiction.
Our efforts must be made and focused on to take the victims towards , say no to drugs and yes to life and better healthcare and healthy life, a workable way forward in life . Let us all put in our best efforts by putting our best foot forward to make our Jammu and Kashmir, UT a NASHA MUKT ( drug free – addiction free ) , UT , a role model UT for others to emulate and copy our NASHA MUKT successful model . And thereafter carry forward the legacy of NASHA MUKT , Jammu and Kashmir, UT.
