DODA, Apr 26: Police in Doda district today busted a narcotics network in the Dak Mohalla area of Sadikabad and detained 3 persons during raids.
An amount of Rs 23 lakh in cash and 85 grams of heroin was also seized from the accused individuals.
Reports said the action was carried out under the “Nasha Mukt Jammu and Kashmir” campaign following specific inputs about drug peddling in the area.
During the operation, police teams led by Additional SP Doda, Mohammad Aslam Wani conducted coordinated searches at multiple locations.
Reports said during a raid at the residence of one woman, police seized 85 grams of heroin, commonly known as chitta, and Rs 23 lakh cash.
They said preliminary investigation indicated the involvement of the woman and her daughter in the illegal trade.
Police have also detained another person for questioning.
Meanwhile, further raids were continuing on the basis of leads developed during the investigation and more arrests were likely.
Pertinently, the entire operation was conducted under the supervision of SSP Doda Kartik Shrotriya.
