RAMBAN, Apr 26: Police here today arrested a drug peddler from Banihal and recovered 4.24 gram heroin-like substance from him.
According to official sources, cops from Police Post Jawahar Tunnel during routine checking at Chakori Nallah on old National Highway in Banihal, noticed a person with suspicious behaviour and apprehend him.
During his search, about 4.24 gram of a substance suspected to be heroin was recovered from him.
The accused was identified as Zafran Ahmed Wani, son of Mohd Yousuf Wani, resident of Darshipora, Chareel, Tehsil Banihal, District Ramban.
A case in FIR No. 67/2026 has been registered at Police Station Banihal in this regard under relevant sections (8/21/22) of the NDPS Act and investigation started.
