PoJK belongs to India, will be taken back, Pak has no locus standi: Gaurav

JAMMU, Apr 17: BJP spokesperson & convenor (International Affairs), Gaurav Gupta, today launched a blistering attack on Pakistan for its baseless and habitual interference in India’s internal matters, following its objection to provisions related to Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoJK) in the Delimitation Bill 2026.
In a strongly worded statement, Gupta made it unequivocally clear that Pakistan has no locus standi whatsoever to comment on India’s sovereign Legislative processes and warned Islamabad to “stop poking its nose where it does not belong.”
“Jammu & Kashmir, including PoJK, is an inseparable and integral part of India. The Delimitation exercise is a Constitutional and democratic process of our nation. Pakistan’s reaction is nothing but desperate propaganda aimed at masking its illegal occupation,” Gupta said.
He further intensified the attack, calling out Pakistan’s hypocrisy: “It is astonishing that a country which has illegally occupied Indian territory for decades, suppressed the rights of people in PoJK and failed to uphold basic democratic norms, is today sermonising on legality. Pakistan should first answer for its own actions before pointing fingers at India.”
Referring to the Delimitation Bill 2026, Gupta emphasized that the provision enabling future delimitation in PoJK reaffirms India’s firm and non-negotiable stand on the region.
“This is not just a Legislative provision, it is a clear assertion of India’s sovereignty and intent. Let Pakistan be under no illusion: PoJK is India’s and it will be reclaimed.”
He added that Pakistan’s repeated attempts to internationalise the issue have consistently failed and will continue to be rejected by India and the global community.
“India does not need lectures from a nation that thrives on instability and misinformation. Our policies are guided by the Constitution, not by external pressure or propaganda,” he said.
Gupta concluded with a stern message to Islamabad: “Instead of issuing hollow statements, Pakistan should prepare to vacate the territory it occupies illegally. India’s patience should not be mistaken for weakness. The truth is simple, PoJK belongs to India, and no amount of noise from across the border can change that reality.”
