GURUGRAM, Apr 17: A 25-year-old Mewati singer was arrested in Nuh district on Friday for promoting gun culture and extortion in a song uploaded on YouTube, police said.
The singer, identified as Aslam, was arrested by Nuh cyber police after a complaint was filed on April 12, stating that the song in question glorifies possession of illegal weapons and various criminal activities.
“We are questioning him, and he will be produced in a Nuh court tomorrow”, said a senior police officer.
Police said such content creates an atmosphere of fear and insecurity in society and has a particularly negative influence on youth.
The police have also started a process to shut down a YouTube channel and Facebook accounts in connection with the case. (PTI)
