Five held with 12 Kg Ganja-like substance from Gharota, Domana areas

JAMMU, Apr 14: Jammu and Kashmir Police today claimed to have arrested five alleged drug peddlers in two separate operations at Gharota and Domana areas and seized around 12 kg of Ganja-like substance from their possession.
A police official said in the first operation, a team from Police Station Gharota apprehended two accused, identified as Keshav Sahu and Pardesi Ram Sahu, both residents of Chhattisgarh, and recovered approximately 2 kg of Ganja-like substance from their possession.
He said the accused were accordingly booked in case FIR number 40/2026 under Sections 8/20 of the NDPS Act registered at Police Station Gharota.
In another operation, the police official said a police party from BPP Sandwan under Police Station Domana arrested three persons identified as Billu Sharma, Tarun Kumar Patel and Dinesh Kumar Chauhan.
He said around 10 kg of ganja-like substance was recovered from them.
Accordingly, a case under FIR number 80/2026 under Sections 8/20/29 of the NDPS Act has been registered against the trio at Police Station Domana.
Further investigation in both cases is underway, added the police official.
