JAMMU, Apr 13: The Project RISE (Respecting Identities | Supporting Equalities) has been successfully completed across all 22 districts of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh.
The initiative, led by Jammu & Kashmir Bank in collaboration with the Directorates of School Education in Jammu, Kashmir, and Ladakh, was implemented by Live For Others – Being Helpful Foundation over a six-month period from October 2025 to March 2026.
The project recorded a wide-reaching impact, engaging more than 50,000 individuals across urban, rural, and remote areas. Through consistent on-ground efforts, the implementing agency ensured that awareness translated into meaningful community participation and dialogue.
A total of 191 structured awareness sessions formed the backbone of the initiative. Of these, 92 sessions integrated gender sensitization modules delivered by experts, complemented by practical self-defence training. In addition, 88 structured feedback sessions-featuring activities such as poster-making, storytelling, and interactive discussions with school leadership-helped capture participant perspectives and assess program effectiveness.
The initiative also included 11 community-level outreach activities conducted at key public locations, extending its reach beyond educational institutions. Overall, more than 88 schools and colleges participated in the programme, reinforcing its scale and inclusivity. The activities were aligned with broader developmental goals, particularly those related to gender equality and quality education.
Project RISE focused on promoting gender sensitivity, mutual respect, and inclusivity among young individuals. By encouraging dialogue, critical thinking, and creative expression, the programme moved beyond conventional awareness campaigns. Competitions and interactive sessions empowered students to articulate their views and advocate for social change within their communities.
The successful completion of the project highlights effective collaboration between financial institutions, educational bodies, and civil society organizations. Live For Others – Being Helpful Foundation played a central role in ensuring seamless execution and sustained engagement at the grassroots level.
Although the initiative has formally concluded, its outcomes are expected to have a lasting influence, with its core message of equality, respect, and social responsibility continuing to resonate across communities.
