All India Confederation of Minorities’ Organizations organizes education camp

JAMMU, Apr 10: A free education camp dedicated to underprivileged students organized by the All India Confederation of SC/ST/OBC/Minorities Organizations was today held at Kranti Jyoti Savitribai Phule and Fatima Sheikh Pathshala.
Representing the Confederation, state president R K Kalsotra and Finance Secretary Ramesh Chandra participated in the programme.
The programme echoed Ambedkar’s call, “Be Educated, Agitate, Organize,” along with his famous quote, “Education is the milk of the lioness; whoever drinks it is bound to roar.”
Speaking on the occasion, R K Kalsotra highlighted that Ambedkar envisioned education not merely as a means of livelihood but as a foundation for building a humane and just society.
He also stressed the importance of girls’ education, recalling Ambedkar’s words that the progress of a community is measured by the progress of its women.
Kalsotra further announced that the Confederation aims to organize 50 education camps in 2026 to promote Ambedkar’s philosophy of empowerment, equality and social change.
He assured that every effort will be made to provide educational materials to underprivileged children and to educate them about the Constitution, fundamental rights and duties.
State president of Barwala Sabha, Devi Ditta, along with members of the Sabha, also attended the camp.
He advised the staff to focus not only on academic learning but also on social education to build awareness among students.
During the camp, educational materials were distributed among students and simple, effective methods for achieving quality education were explained.
Students who benefited from the distribution of educational materials included Anjali Sharma, Krishna Kaith, Virat Bhagat, Kanika Khargotra, Dhruv Dalotra, Jivika, Anand Bhagat, Palak Sharma, Kuljit Singh and Khushi Chargotra.
