KATHUA, Apr 5: Continuing its crackdown against drug peddlers, Kathua police under the overall supervision of SSP Kathua, Mohita Sharma recovered approximately 20.36 grams of heroine at Dhar Road Dharamkot area of Police Station (PS) Billawar and arrested two drug peddlers besides seizing one vehicle (car) used in the commission of crime.
Police said a team of PS Billawar led by SHO Billawar Inspector, Zaheer Mushtaq under the supervision of SDPO Billawar, Neeraj Padyar established a special naka on Dhar Road near Dharamkot. During naka one car bearing Registration Number JK08Q-4484 coming from Dayalachak towards Billawar was signalled to stop for checking. On seeing the police team, the driver of the car tried to flee from the spot. But alert police party did hectic efforts chased the car and apprehended the two persons in suspicious condition While questioning they disclosed their name as Bagh Shah, son of Yousaf Shah of Karandi Kalan tehsil Marheen distt. During their personal search 20.36 grams of Heroin (chitta) and two mobile phones and cash Rs.5430/- have been recovered from their possession and the vehicle (car) was seized from the spot. In this regard a case FIR No. 56/2026 U/S 8/21/22/ 29/NDPS Act stands registered at Police Station Billawar.
